Seven Months

Here's Curly Q doing her dance to celebrate being 7 months old! What a silly wiggle, it looks like she is dancing. She does this ALL the time! It's so funny. So, Curly Q is growing entirely too quickly. It's out of control. She is becoming very mobile. She is great at rolling to her back and to her tummy. She's even mastered the consecutive rolling. She does a good job at tangling up her oxygen cords. She's working on the scooting and army crawl. If you put a toy in front of her, she can squirm to get it. However, she's not very coordinated yet, so she ends up nose diving a lot when she's trying to squirm. We're working on having her sit by herself, and she's doing well, but she still needs quite a bit of support. She has discovered her voice and loves to scream or screech. Some days she is so loud! It is like she just wants to be heard. A couple of days ago, we finally introduced her to solid foods. We probably could have started earlier, because she LOVED her rice cereal. She gobbled it up without any problems! Yesterday, we discovered a tooth had broken through. So, now she has her first tooth! She loves to giggle, especially at her sister.

Her 6 month check up was a few weeks ago. She is now in the 50% for her head size! Yay, 50% is fantastic for being a preemie! She's also in the 25% for height and 10% for weight. But she's doing well and the doctor isn't concerned at all about her progress or anything! She is still on oxygen. We have her tested monthly to see if she can come off, but she's failed all 4 tests. So, now I'm just hoping she can come off oxygen by her first birthday! If it's sooner than that, great! Honestly, the oxygen is no big deal. We're used to it. We're just so grateful to have Curly Q as healthy as she is! She definitely adds to our family!

Laughing

Curly Q is kind of stingy with her laughing. She will smile great big HUGE smiles for almost anyone, but she won't laugh for anyone. Morgan and I have both gotten cute giggles out of her, but only Little Miss can get her really laughing. I don't know why, but Curly Q just thinks Little Miss is hilarious! So, today, Curly Q was laughing at a beach ball being tossed in the air by Little Miss. Oh, she's so stinking adorable!

SiStErS

I cannot get over how fun it is to have 2 girls! Two is so much more fun than one! I love watching them play together and interact! Little Miss is such a fantastic big sister. She's so helpful and loves to play with Curly Q. And Curly Q lights up whenever Little Miss comes around. They entertain each other ... its lovely.

p.s. I think it is so funny that these two girls have very different colors of skin!

Dress Up

Morgan saw this picture and asked why I would dress our Little Miss like that. Ha! I would NEVER dress her up in that! This is the work of a 3 year old! Even though I would never dress Little Miss up like this, I would take pictures and post them for all our friends and family to see!

Ten Pounds

On our home scale, Curly Q weighs in at 14 pounds. I know it is not as accurate as the Doc's scale, but 14 pounds! She's gained 10 pounds in the last 6 months. She weighed 3 pounds 10 ounces at birth. She was just skin and bones. Now she has little fat rolls and pudgy, kissable cheeks.

Three Months Home

Our cutie Curly Q is so stinking cute! She is starting to show so much personality, I love it. She is full of smiles. Last week, she finally showed us her laugh. She has also discovered her voice and she is being very vocal recently. It's so cute to hear her 'talk'. She tells us all sorts of stories. And she is getting mobile. It's amazing how much she can move already. She is constantly rolling to her tummy and back to her back. Occasionally she gets rolling in the same direction and gets half way across our rug. She gets all wrapped up in her oxygen tubes when she rolls like that. Hopefully we can ditch the oxygen soon. It's hard to believe that she'll be 6 months old this month. She's only been home from the hospital for 3 months. Honestly, her long stay in the NICU seems so long ago. We're so happy to have her home and to be a part of our family.

Curly Q's Blessing

Last Sunday was a special day in our family. It was the baby blessing of our beautiful Curly Q. It was a wonderful day. Curly Q was able to fit into the same white blessing dress that Little Miss wore. Curly Q was so good during the blessing (and the rest of our church meeting for that fact). She was awake and approaching her nap time, so I was a little worried if she wasn't asleep before the blessing, that she would be fussy during the blessing. She wasn't asleep, but she wasn't fussy either. Morgan gave a beautiful blessing. It was so nice to have the support of so many of our family members. Afterwards, we had a everyone fit in our tiny house for some yummy food. Honestly, it was so much fun to have so many people come and support us and celebrate with us. It really feels like we've had some closure on this chapter of our lives. We didn't plan for how this pregnancy ended up, but we're so grateful for our miracle baby. Now we can move on and celebrate our family of 4.
